Clock service

We were arsked to service a mantel clock. Above are photos of before and after my service.

We were asked to service a clock start to finish and record it. I also stripped, re stained and lacquired the case and polished the bezel. This isnt included within a service  but it was good practice for me. Below is everything a customer could expect from a service plus a little insight on what happens and a closer look inside a clock itself.

The service begins

First inspection

All parts inspected for damage and marked where needed. Old wire holding parts in place will be replaced by correct taper pins. A video is available of the whole process.

Everything was made by hand tools at the bench to test our skills. Part 2 did involve the use of a pedestal drill, table top lathe and soft and hard soldering.
